Born in Leicester, Dan Cole is a former pupil of Martin Johnson’s old school in Market Harborough and began his rugby as a flanker with South Leicester RFC.

Cole's first team début came in the October 2007 EDF Energy Cup pool match against Bath. He swiftly emerged through the Tigers Academy and spent two successful seasons on loan at Bedford Blues between 2006 and 2008.

Having played for England at under-18, under-19 and under-20, Cole was selected in January 2009 to make his debut for the England Saxons, against Portugal.

Currently regarded as one of the finest tighthead props in world rugby, Cole is renowned for his fearsome scrummaging as well as his exceptional proficiency at the breakdown.
